A rare Chinese propaganda piece in the WSJ written by Karen Hao (郝珂灵 ) in Hong Kong. This is an article quoting a small pro-china research firm trying to point that the US needs china for science research. COMPLETELY FALSE. The “most citied papers” stat is very manipulated by China. Chinese scientists quote each other to manipulate the citations numbers higher…and there are many universities in china (which drives up the stats) and makes many chinese ‘papers’ dubious. Many of these papers have prominent American scientists added as authors WITHOUT THEIR KNOWLEDGE. When the American scientists call the universities in China to have their names removed, they are frequently ignored.
