The shot was taken in the Kyiv metro.

A photo of a soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on an escalator in the Kyiv metro has gone viral on the Internet.

The photo shows a military man in uniform walking with a heavy backpack up an escalator that was not working at the time, while other people, civilians, are queuing for the escalator that will take them up.

The photo has already been dubbed the "symbol of the year" and "our present".
