#October12, 2024 marks the 75th anniversary of China’s illegal invasion of #EastTurkistan. This somber day marks the beginning of a relentless campaign of genocide, colonization, and oppression against the Uyghur, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Uzbek, and other Turkic peoples of East Turkistan.

This occupation is not some localized human rights crisis—it is a deliberate and systemic campaign to erase the identity, culture, and very existence of the people of East Turkistan. #China’s continued policies of mass internment, mass enslavement, forced sterilization, and forced assimilation demonstrates that this is not a series of isolated incidents but a carefully planned genocide.

The East Turkistan National Movement urges the world to reject China’s invented baseless claims and false narrative on East Turkistan. For millenia, East Turkistan existed as a sovereign nation with its own distinct history, culture, and people. The People’s Republic of China’s imperialist colonial claim that East Turkistan is "part of China" has no basis in history or international law. We call on the international community to recognize East Turkistan as an Occupied Country and condemn Chinese occupation and colonization of East Turkistan.

The international community has a responsibility to act. As with other colonial struggles that occurred across Africa and Asia, East Turkistan’s fight for the restoration of its freedom and independence is a legitimate anti-colonial struggle under the principles of international law. The United Nations General Assembly Resolution 3070 (XXVIII) enshrines the right to self-determination and independence for all peoples under colonial rule.

We call on governments and organizations, including the UN, the @IntlCrimCourt and the @CIJ_ICJ to take action. Chinese officials must be held accountable for their crimes against humanity and genocide in Occupied #EastTurkistan. The global community must not stand by in silence while the people of East Turkistan are systematically exterminated by an occupying colonial regime. Our struggle is for survival, justice, and the restoration of our rightful independence. #UyghurGenocide
