川普在自己的社交平台“真实社群”（Truth Social）中明确表示他不会考虑黑莉和蓬佩奥进入新政府班子，“我非常享受并感谢先前与他们的合作，感谢他们为我们国家服务。让美国再次伟大。”

目前并不清楚黑莉是否争取于川普第二任期任职，但之前有消息称蓬佩奥是国防部长的有力人选。黑莉前南卡罗莱纳州州长，曾在川普任内担任美国驻联合国大使，尽管她在党内初选与川普竞争时严厉批评川普，但她还是支持川普竞选总统。
