⚡Medical breakthrough: This will change the world!
An Australian man becomes the first person in the world to leave a hospital with an artificial heart.
A patient from New South Wales has become the first person in history to be allowed to leave a hospital with a fully artificial heart. The six-hour operation took place in Sydney in November, and after several weeks in intensive care, the patient was discharged last month. The artificial heart, developed by BiVACOR, served as a temporary replacement while awaiting a donor organ.
The inventor of the technology, Dr. Daniel Timms, expressed pride in the achievements, while Dr. Paul Yans highlighted the significance of the operation in the fight against heart failure, which claims the lives of nearly 5,000 Australians every year.
