Hideo Kojima says there was a slight misunderstanding about the USB stick of game ideas he left behind if he dies.

He said he got sick during Covid and had to work remotely and in that condition he was unable to make games. But since he has a studio and staff salaries to pay he worried about what would happen if he could no longer make games.

So he put all the ideas he has saved up until now onto a USB stick and gave it to his staff saying “If I get sick and can’t make games, please use this.” So that his studio would be okay for about 5 years.

But he said he recovered so has put aside that USB plan, he didn’t throw it away but he reset that plan back to zero.
