On July 19, 2015, the CCP launched a nationwide frenzy of arrests of human rights lawyers. At 1 a.m. on July 10, I was arrested and taken away. Two or three hundred lawyers were arrested across the country at the same time. Some lawyers, such as Ding Jiaxi, Xie Yang, and Yu Wensheng, are still in prison, some have had their lawyer licenses revoked, some have been under long-term border control, and some have been under house arrest.
The 709 Chinese lawyers' mass arrests are a sign of further suppression of citizens' rights, the CCP's forced constitutional amendment, and a return to personal dictatorship and the emperor's family rule. More than 30 years of reform and opening up and international integration have come to an abrupt end. The faint light of social evolution and democratic transformation has been blown out, and China has returned to the long night!
As far as I know, 709 did not make any human rights lawyer in China surrender. They are still fighting and engaging in human rights activities. We commemorate 709 to let more people see the true dictatorship of the CCP under the false democracy and rule of law, and be prepared to end the one-party dictatorship of the CCP in thought and action.
We believe that this day will definitely come.
