1/9 I finally got my copy of @philippilk ’s “The Collapse of Global Liberalism” and it is worth your time, $ and reading. It charts the rise and fall of liberalism not merely as a political ideology, but as a metaphysical force that has shaped the modern world. In his Introduction and the first two chapters (I will review the other chapters as I read them), Pilkington advances a provocative thesis: liberalism is not a doctrine but a dynamic historical project aimed at dismantling all forms of hierarchy in the name of equivalence, identity, and progress.
