🇨🇳 NEW: Fortify Rights calls on Chinese authorities to immediately and unconditionally release 22-year-old student and Tibetan-rights activist Zhang Yadi, detained since July 31 for “endangering national security.”

Arrested after promoting understanding of Tibetan culture, Zhang remains incommunicado and without legal counsel. Fortify Rights urges China to release her immediately and calls on France and the United Kingdom to press for accountability and demand her freedom.

“Chinese authorities should free Zhang Yadi immediately. They arrested a 22-year-old student who committed no crime and instead works to promote understanding among people in China about the culture and human rights situation in Tibet,” said @benedictrogers, Senior Director at @FortifyRights.
