Urgent Attention: Early Rain Covenant Church in Chengdu, Sichuan, Surrounded and Raided by a Large Number of Police on the Morning of June 14, 2026

At approximately 11:00 AM on June 14, 2026, during the Sunday worship service of Early RainCovenant Church, fifty to sixty police officers suddenly surrounded and raided the gathering. A large number of law enforcement personnel stormed the premises, and the situation became extremely tense.

According to those present, after registering the identity information of all members, the police called in buses and multiple police vehicles and began forcibly taking brothers and sisters one by one to the local police station.

As of this writing, Elder Yan Hong, Elder Wu Qing, Brother Liu Yingxu, Brother Nie Bo, Brother Li Benli, Brother A Xin, and others have been taken away. A large number of those present, including several young children, have also been loaded onto buses and police vehicles.

We urgently call on churches and brothers and sisters everywhere to pray earnestly for Qiuyu Covenant Church:

1. Pray that the Lord would grant heavenly peace and safety. May the Lord himself watch over Elder Yan Hong, Elder Wu Qing, and all the brothers and sisters who have been taken away — especially the young children present. May he be their shield in every moment, and may their hearts be filled with the peace, steadiness, and strength that come from Christ as they face harsh interrogation and the agents of the enemy.

2. Pray that the Lord would attend to the basic physical needs of the members. A large number have been taken away, and it is not yet clear whether they are able to eat or drink normally. May the Lord strengthen them physically, open a way for them to receive food and rest as soon as possible, and bring them safely home.

3. Pray that the Lord would govern the minds and intentions of those carrying out the persecution. As the brothers and sisters meditated on in morning prayer — may the Lord take hold of the hands and feet, the thoughts and hearts, of these officers. May he reclaim his sovereignty, restrain their violence, and even work a turning miracle among those who seem as fierce as Saul — that Saul might become Paul.

4. Pray that the church would be drawn into deeper unity through this trial. May the risen Christ himself shepherd his flock, so that through this assault, the members of Qiuyu Covenant Church would stand watch over one another and weather this storm together. May the persecution on earth not scatter the household of God — but instead become the very instrument by which the church is refined and the power of the resurrection made known.
