1. No public toilet emergencies — Use proper restrooms. Never defecate/urinate in public, moats, temples, or behind statues. Flush after use.
2. Temple & Sacred Sites — Cover shoulders + knees. Remove shoes before entering. No drying underwear on chairs/statues. Don’t kick bells or climb on Buddha images.
3. Head & Feet Respect — Never touch anyone’s head (sacred). Never point feet at people, monks, or Buddha statues. Feet are considered dirty.
4. Royal Family — Stand still for national anthem (8AM/6PM in public). Never criticize monarchy (serious legal risks).
5. Queue & Noise — No jumping queues or shouting loudly. Be patient and calm.
6. Dress Code — Modest clothing at temples/palaces (no shorts, tank tops). Sarongs often available to borrow.
7. General — Smile, wai (palms together bow) when appropriate. No spitting, littering, or reckless driving. Respect elders & monks (women: don’t touch monks directly).
