On the morning of January 6,The second-instance verdict in the case of Beijing human rights lawyer Yu Wensheng was announced by the Suzhou Intermediate People's Court, which upheld the original judgment. On October 29, 2024, Yu Wensheng and his wife, Xu Yan, were sentenced to three years and one year and nine months in prison, respectively, on charges of "inciting subversion of state power."
